I was hoping someone could help me with a question on totem build enchant mechanics.

I recently saw a post from Rory @ GGG saying this would be addressed (post was dated feb of this year) however i tested the below two items and neither apply when my totems or even minions make a kill.

Will this be fixed or did i misread Rory's post and does it apply to boots too since the post only answers a question regarding gloves.

EDIT: unlikely i get an answer here but if i do it would be good to know if these changes will allow the existing enchants to work or if i will have to reroll them (hoping !! not)

They're currently not, but we've got a planned rework to some 'on kill' effects that will let specific stats (Including these enchantments) work with them. It wasn't ready for this expansion, but we'd like to make the change as soon as we can!

From what i understand it isnt ready yet but is being addressed, thats good news from trappers and totem users because they are pretty much f*cked out of glove enchants.

Edit - Keep in mind its probably alot of programming soo they probably wont release it until 2.3 if i had to guess.

Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

Labyrinth salt farm miner.

Some boot enchants are excellent on totem (ancestral bond) characters, because you can build for them to be always active (for example, by not using cwdt setups that crit or power charge generation):

"90% increased Critical Strike Chance if you haven't Crit Recently" = wonderful on my crit flame totemer.

Same goes with "Adds 1-120 Lightning Damage if you haven't Killed Recently"
and "Damage Penetrates 8% of Enemy Elemental Resistances if you haven't Killed Recently"

Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.

Sure the 1-120 light damage works but is so useless when you consider how frequently damage and kills are occurring (very spread out) i even tried this enchant -----

(Cast/ASP would be much better provided it worked).

As for gloves I did not build it with the intent of burn damage and should not have to rely on this for an enchant to work. I am not complaining but this is surely a simple fix and from the GGG post by Rory regarding the gloves specifically.

I'm confused. What's your problem with the 1-120 lightning damage? Why do you think it is useless on a totem build?

It triggers if you haven't killed recently.

Which means if you're using ancestral bond and totems, you have it 100% of the time, since your totems get the kills (i.e. "if you haven't killed recently" is always satisfied, unless you're getting attributed kills from ignite/poison, but that doesn't happen often).

Similarly, "90% increased Critical Strike Chance if you haven't Crit Recently" is fantastic on a crit totem build, because when a totem crits it does not count as you critting, so you always have +90% crit chance.

As for the glove enchants, if they "fix" it so on hit effects from totems are attributed to you, it wouldn't matter since all of the on hit enchants would deal 0 damage with ancestral bond (the same goes for most of the on kill enchants). For the gloves it's much less about totem hit/kill attribution and more about ancestral bond. The offensive options will do nothing, so you aim for chilled ground when hit, regen when crit, or summons.

Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.
