Annual Salary: $32,301Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pmSince 1971, the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.The Office Associate performs a variety of functions including typing, dictation, transcription, receptionist and phone duties, appointment scheduling, record keeping, and related administrative tasks. The work may be characterized by interaction with program clients, caregivers, and other service providers.
The ideal candidate for the Office Associate position possesses a comprehensive understanding of standard office practices, business English, and the specific terminology relevant to the division's work. They exhibit proficiency in utilizing office computer software such as Microsoft Office and internet-based tools like Zoom, alongside the ability to type rapidly with minimal errors. Office Associate Requirements: One year of clerical and or customer service experience required. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Internet and web-based tools (e.g. Zoom). Excellent oral and written communication. Experience in a health care setting preferred.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
