Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (2024)

In thisHonkai Star Rail Luocha Build Guidewe’re going to be covering the Defensive Support healerLuochaBuild. He’s very good at keeping allies alive without spending skill points. Removing debuffs not only from allies but removing buffs from enemies. He’s the only character in the game that does this in an AOE. This build focuses on healing as well as cleansing while generating Skill Points for the team.

Luocha is a limited five-star character, that was part of an uprate banner during the second half of 1.1 patch. He’s an Imaginary character from the Abundance Path, which focuses on healing. Luocha joins the line ofDefensive Supportcharacters, with his reactive healing playstyle.

In a turn-based game such as Honkai Star Rail, you can’t dodge or easily escape enemy damage. So having a defensive character that can keep the team alive is mandatory for almost every team. Luocha fills this role perfectly, as he has two ways of healing, and both are automatic. His skill auto-casts when an ally goes below 50% HP, and his talent leaves a healing field that enables allies to heal themselves when they attack.

Therefore, Luocha doesn’t need to waste Skill Points (SP) on healing and doesn’t waste his healing on allies with full or high HP. On top of that, he cleanses allies’ debuffs, including any DoTs enemies may inflict. But that’s not all, Luocha removes enemy buffs, breaks enemies’ shields, and deals some decent damage. Finally, he scales his healing with the Attack stat, so he can benefit from all Attack buffers in the game. So far, all characters from the Harmony Path buff the attack stat, so Luocha heals for much more than expected.

All of this combined, makes him the prime Defensive Support in Honkai Star Rail, with no competition for the top tier whatsoever. Let’s go over what makes this Honkai Star Rail Luocha Build a winning combination!

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (1)

Luocha Build Guide – Active Skills

Skill leveling Priority: Skill > Talent >> Ultimate > Basic Attack.

Thorns of the Abyss – Normal attack

Luocha uses an Imaginary normal attack, which has a standard one unit of Imaginary break. But since Luocha uses his normal attack quite often, especially with a full-speed build, it helps in breaking enemies that are weak to Imaginary.

In terms of Skill Points, Luocha generates the most SP among Defensive Supports. He even beats Gepard, since Luocha’s build is more suited for speed than Gepard, thus taking more turns. That alone gives Luocha a huge advantage over all other healers available and makes him the best choice for most teams.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (2)

Prayer of Abyss Flower – Skill

His skill restores HP of one ally, based on Luocha’s current attack stat, plus a flat amount. The flat amount is huge on Luocha’s skill, and the attack scaling is much higher than other healers’ HP scaling.

If an ally HP drops below 50%, Luocha auto-casts his skill without consuming SP. The skill casts automatically and still generates energy as normal. However, it also has a two-turn cooldown. So in terms of energy, Luocha generates more energy than your standard healer.

If you do a three-turn rotation with three normal attacks, and an ally’s HP drops below 50%, he will cast a free skill. So the total energy will be (20*3 + 30*1 = 90), which is equal to energy gained from three whole skill casts by other characters. Which costs them a whopping 3 minus SP, while Luocha gets the same while generating 3 positive SP!

In addition to that, Luocha gains on a stack of “Abyss Flower” on skill use, which contributes towards proccing his Talent. Furthermore, with A2 Trace, the skill cleanses the ally of one debuff.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (3)

Cycle of Life – Talent

After Luocha gains two stacks of “Abyss Flower”, he consumes them to put down a healing field. This field enables Luocha to heal allies after they attack enemies, and the field lasts for two turns.

This passive healing is great, and scales with Luocha’s attack stat. It encourages Luocha to build speed to deploy the field more often than allies consume it. Then with the A4 Trace, it restores a small amount of HP to all allies on the field.

In this Honkai Star Rail Luocha build, the healing field has no limit on how many times it can proc. So with characters who proc counterattacks outside their turn, such as March 7th and Clara. They can heal the entire team multiple times per turn. It also works with Jing Yuan’s Lightning Lord, Herta’s follow-up attack, and Himeko’s follow-up attack.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (4)

Death Wish – Ultimate

At the low cost of 100, Luocha unleashes a massive Imaginary AOE attack. Such an attack breaks two toughness units of all enemies that are weak to Imaginary and deals decent damage for a healer. As explained before, Luocha generates a lot of energy. With a small investment in Energy Reg, he can use an Ultimate as regularly as every three turns.

His Ultimate also contributes to the Abyss flower stacks, so Luocha can proc his talent faster. But you have to be careful not to cast Luocha’s healing field prematurely while another healing field is active. So if a healing field is dropped, and Luocha uses or auto-casts a skill, try to hold on using Ultimate. Just wait until the field runs out, and then cast the Ultimate.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (5)

Mercy of a Fool – Technique

Luocha’s Technique enables him to cast his healing field from talent at battle start. This saves him two turns, and allows him to start a battle with passive healing, instead of waiting for two stacks of “Abyss Flower”.

Healing fields last for two turns, so before they run out, Luocha will easily recast it. So it will stay consistent throughout the fight. Overall a great Technique to use before any battle, and as an “Enchant” type Technique, it doesn’t conflict with other active Techniques.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (6)

Luocha– Traces

Traces are passive skills that characters unlock after leveling, and reaching certain ascension levels. For this Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build, you need to farm and spend resources to unlock Traces, but they give a huge advantage to Luocha. As a defensive support healer, Luocha should prioritize all major Traces. And for minor Traces, he really needs the “Attack” ones.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (7)

Cleansing Revival– Ascension 2

When Luocha casts his skill or triggers it, he cleanses the same target from one debuff. This is the exact Trace of Natasha‘s A2, but it has the advantage of being able to auto-cast, which Natasha doesn’t have. This makes Luocha a direct and huge upgrade over her. He almost does everything she does, but a lot better, and with less SP consumed.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (8)

Sanctified – Ascension 4

Enable allies who attack an enemy inside the Healing field to heal all allies, not only themselves. This heal is small, but still stronger than the small heal over time other healers have. It adds another layer of passive healing to the team and increases the survivability of all characters.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (9)

Through the Valley– Ascension 6

Luocha gets a massive crowd control resistance. This resistance basically makes him near immune to control effects such as Freeze, Imprisonment, Entanglement, Slow, Dominate, and Outrage. They are basically any type of debuff that prevents the character from taking action, so this trace makes Luocha literally unstoppable.

It’s a very important Trace and can save the entire team from wiping out when the enemy applies a huge CC with an AOE. Luocha himself resists the effect, then heals and cleanses allies, which could be the difference between life and death.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (10)

Minor Traces

Luocha gets ten minor stats increases, distributed as the following:

  • Attack (Five nodes)
  • HP (Three Nodes)
  • Def (Two Nodes)

All of these stats boost his defensive capability and his effective health. While HP and Def are purely defensive, Attack is the stat that scales his healing. So overall, Luocha gets a lot of survivability from minor traces and doesn’t waste his stat on something less useful.

Luocha– Light Cone

For this Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build, gear is a crucial part, and Light Cone is a major part of gearing. The niche Luocha needs to fulfil requires all speed, energy, and healing he can get.

Luocha is of the “Abundance” Path, and among Light Cones of this path, there are several that help regain energy to the team or increase healing power. So he is flexible to choose the suitable pick for each team or stick to a general one for all situations.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (11)

Multiplication – Three Stars

This Light Cone has the highest Attack stat among the three-star Light Cones, and it has a passive that advances the character’s turn after using a normal attack. Luocha is one healer who spams his normal attacks, he rarely needs to actively use his skill. So using Multiplication will make him constantly advance his turn, and he will gain a lot more turns this way too.

It allows him to generate a lot of SP for the team, and energy for his own Ultimate. So it’s not only a starter Light Cone that can get to Superimpose tier 5 easily, but a contender for an endgame choice as well. That’s especially more crucial for the Yukong Mono Imaginary team if you plan to cast Yukong’s Skill every single turn.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (12)

Quid Pro Quo – Four Stars

A free Light Cone that has a higher base attack value than Multiplication, which results in better healing. It’s still not the best healing option for Luocha, but it has a potent passive that refunds energy back to the team. At the start of every turn, Luocha’s Light Cone will choose an ally with energy lower than 50%. It generates 8-16 base energy to said ally, which can be increased by ERR, for even higher energy gain.

This passive has a decent chance to proc every turn unless you sync all your characters to use Ultimate together. There’s usually a character below 50% energy, and Quid Pro Quo can give them just the right amount to get their ultimate earlier.

You can buy this weapon from the Memory of Chaos/Forgotten Hall shop, and it can also drop from the weekly bosses. So getting the tier 5 Superimpose is relatively easy, and the energy gained from it becomes massive. It helps round up special rotations that are tight on energy.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (13)

Echoes of the Coffin – Five Stars

Luocha’s signature Light Cone comes only from a limited banner, and it’s very costly to get. It gives him the highest attack value and energy, as well as grants all allies speed.

So overall, it’s a very competent choice, and even the best in some cases. But it’s one of the least versatile Light Cones, as no other character in the game can use it. Luocha heals are still very strong without it. So ultimately I don’t really recommend going for it if you have the choice.

Luocha – Relics & Stats

In this Luocha Build we’ll cover all four Relics slots: Head, Gloves, Body, and Feet. As well as the two accessories slots, Sphere and Rope. Head always comes with a Flat HP main stat, and Gloves comes with a Flat Attack main stat. Then Body, Feet, Sphere, and Rope come with random stats. So gearing the Head and Gloves will lean more towards finding the best sub-stats, while the other four have to also roll a good main stat.

For Luocha, we prioritize the Attack stat, on the Sphere piece. Then we can get either an Attack or Healing Bonus on the Body, as both contribute to healing. For Rope we go with Energy Reg Rate, and prioritize Speed on Boots. That’s the easiest way to build Luocha for dealing better heals, while still getting SP and Energy generation.

As for sub-stats, we aim for more Speed and Attack. To keep it easy and straightforward.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (15)

Musketeer of Wild Wheat – Relic Set

The set gives attack, speed, and normal attack damage. So it has everything Luocha needs, to an extent. It’s a 4 piece set though, which makes getting good sub-stats a bit harder. So an alternative is equipping a hybrid set for similar results, but gaining better sub-stats by comparison.

Musketeer sets also drop from weekly bosses, so you can get them anyway without having to target farming. You might equip Luocha and a few other characters this way, while using your daily stamina on other things.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (16)

Hybrid 2x Musketeer / 2x Passerby of Wondering Cloud – Relic Set

Two pieces of Musketeer set give attack stats, and two pieces of Wondering Cloud will give a healing bonus. So it’s an easy comp with good stats.

Both Relic Sets come from the same Cavern of Corrosion, so farming it will guarantee a good hybrid set quickly. You can farm some pieces and move on with your farming to something more impactful.

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace – Relic Set

The newly released Relic set Messenger Traversing Hackerspace came with patch 1.2. Two pieces give a speed bonus, and four pieces give speed to all allies for two turns after using an Ultimate.

The speed gain is much greater than using Musketeer, and buffing allies’ speed alongside Luocha is pretty neat. The effect of this set can’t be stacked though, so if another support uses it, you don’t gain anything from having four pieces slotted.

However, if you run certain teams on a 4-turn rotation, you may use two sets. In that case, ensure your Luocha holds on to his ultimate until the first set bonus runs out. Then Luocha uses his ultimate, to get 100% uptime.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (17)

Fleet of the Ageless – Accessories Set

Luocha can use the support set Fleet of the Ageless to buff all allies’ Attack stat. Luocha himself benefits from this bonus, so it’s better suited for him. The set also gives a HP bonus, to help the wearer to survive.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (18)

Space Sealing Station – Accessories Set

You can sacrifice a team buff for the sake of increasing Luocha’s own Attack value. Space Sealing Station gives a much higher Attack to the wearer, so Luocha gets better healing out of it.

Both Fleet of the Ageless and Space Sealing Station come from World 3 in the Simulated Universe. So you can use either set, depending on what other characters require. Your DPS character might take all the Space Sealing Station pieces, so you can use Fleet of the Ageless on Luocha.

In the other scenario, your other supports and HP-scaling healers take all Fleet of the Ageless pieces. In that case, the Space Sealing Station set sounds much more reasonable for Luocha.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build – Team Composition

Luocha is the best healer in the game, and an ideal pick in most teams. However, Luocha shines more brightly in teams that utilize more than his healing. Such teams are mono Imaginary teams, and HP-consuming main DPS teams. There’s also the niche team that utilizes Clara’s counterattack because Luocha’s reactive healing is perfect for a DPS who’s a tank.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (20)

Main DPS from Destruction (Or any) Path

Luocha works perfectly as solo defensive support, so he leaves three team slots for the offensive characters. Whether you use two main DPS and one support. Or one hyper carry, and two supports, Luocha satisfies the role in each of these team setups.

An Imaginary team may use Welt as a damage dealer, or both Welt and Imbibitor Lunae as two DPS roles. Welt is of the Nihility Path, and Imbibitor Lunae is a Destruction character. There are also all the classic Hunt Path characters, such as Seele and Dan Heng, but Luocha offers nothing special for them. In any case, Yanqing is the least favorable defensive support for Luocha. Yanqing isn’t great for taking damage to begin with, and is better partnered with a shielder instead of a healer.

Other Destruction characters that consume HP are the more ideal damage dealers that Luocha can support. These are characters such as Arlan, the upcoming Blade, and Jingliu. They can keep consuming HP, and Luocha provides passive healing to keep them alive. So they never stop attacking and consuming HP.

Clara is another Destruction character that doesn’t consume HP, but takes on a lot of damage from enemies. So again, Luocha is more suited as a healer for her.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (21)

Offensive Support from Harmony Path

If you use a Luocha Build with a hyper carry, then the team needs two offensive supports. If you use two DPS teams, then you can take Yukong to buff them both. In both cases, you need a Harmony character, to buff the damage of the team.

Luocha generates a lot of SP for the team to use, so Harmony support can use their skill more often. In the case of Bronya for example, she can buff and advance the main DPS’ turn more often. This yields a very high DPS increase, especially if the main DPS also doesn’t consume SP to use the skill such as Blade or Arlan.

In the case of Yukong, the spare SP from Luocha helps her use her skill more often as well. This is great for buffing two DPS characters. Or buffing just a single DPS and Luocha himself.

Honkai: Star Rail Luocha Build Guide (22)

A secondaryOffensive Supportorsecondary DPS

As explained above, the SP generated by Luocha, and the extensive healing allow the team to go more offensive. So last slot in the team goes to an offensive character as well.

Secondary DPS who don’t consume a lot of SP are Arlan, Clara, or Sushang if enemies toughness is broken. These can add a lot of free DPS, while the team stays healed by Luocha. But these are not the only options.

Tingyun is a great secondary support if your main support is Bronya. Ting buff lasts for three turns, and she should have more speed than any main DPS. So in an ideal rotation, she is SP positive, and this helps Bronya gain some spare SP to use her skill more often.

Another option is Asta, who hastens the entire team, so she doesn’t mess up SP balance. She gives the team a wide attack buff, which increases DPS, but also increases Luocha’s healing. That’s especially amazing in mono fire teams, an Archetype that deserves a guide of its own.

Final Tips

This Honkai Star Rail Luocha build is a very flexible addition to any team. He adds massive healing and SP generation. This enables more offensive power to be used. His build is very straightforward, without tricky tactics, or hard-to-grasp strategies. In fact, Luocha allows some mindless team comps, that can achieve success even when using auto-battle.

An iImaginary break is something Luocha can do with his normal attacks, to single targets. But more importantly, he uses his ultimate to break with an AOE. If the enemy line has a lot of enemies weak to Imaginary, Luocha can nuke them for massive crowd control. This is good for both defensive and offensive advantages since broken enemies tend to take action a lot less. No other healer currently in the game can break in AOEs quite like Luocha, so it’s a huge bonus.

Luocha is also a free-to-play friendly character, despite being a five-star in my opinion. This is because he doesn’t need expensive Light Cones to work. He gets along perfectly well with four-star and even three-star Light Cones meaning less farming. Even without any Relic set bonus, getting correct main stats is enough to have a decent healer on your hands. So you get a broader chance to farm for your DPS characters without worrying too much about the defensive side.
