Begin by replacing the fuse, if the fuse blows immediately after connecting it to power, it means that your lights are faulty, either a string is severed, or there is a malfunctioning rectifier.

Reasons often include a faulty power supply, loose connections, a faulty circuit design, or even damage due to water ingress caused by rain. Whatever the reason is for your LED lights not working and whatever the tell-tale signs are, there's usually a solution to the issue.

Simply bring the light tester close to each bulb. The tester's indicator will light up when it's near a functioning bulb. If you have a non-contact voltage detector, bring the detector close to the wire section between each bulb to test for voltage. The dead section of wire will be the section after your bad bulb.

If one of your LED light strands isn't working, it's probably just because it has a bad bulb. If one bulb dies, it can cause the rest of the strand to stop working. The only way to fix the problem is to find the bad bulb. Sometimes only a section of the lights will go out, making your job pretty easy.

So, can you use a dimmer switch on LED lights? The answer is yes; you can; however, you must make sure to purchase the correct dimmer for LED lights. Be sure to check out the manufacturers for all information regarding compatibility before you make a purchase.

First, to clarify: Virtually ALL LED strips are dimmable.

It's 99% odds that the culprit is your set of batteries. As the battery lights drain the batteries, the bulbs randomly start to dim. They don't go out all at once. This is true of the incandescent and the LED sets.

LEDs, however, do not contain a filament and instead illuminate using a semiconductor. So instead of just instantly burning out like traditional bulbs, LED lights age over time and progressively get dimmer until they stop working altogether.
