I'm on, same username as here, Cobthecobbler.

I get on every once in a while but the three deck limit kind of turns me off. Absolutely love the browser-based simulator though.

I'm with Cobthecobbler. Love that it's easy and download free, don't love the deck limit and small player base (compared to co*ckatrice).

GoldGhost012 says... #4

Yeah, I'm on there too, same username, but not very often. Haven't run into a problem with it yet except the deck limit.

February 27, 2014 4:07 p.m.

Hallowed_Titan says... #5

Come on! = PDeck limit isn't too bad. Fund it to get more. Not to mention just nix a deck and copy/paste one of your others from tappedout.net.

Glad to see other people on there though.

February 27, 2014 4:11 p.m.

Cobthecobbler says... #6

Oh yeah, it's definitely easy to get around, it's just an unnecessary hassle, though. I'm gonna help fund it once it picks up a bit, and the user-base grows, as well as some of the kinks are worked out.

Matsi883 says... #7

I'm on, same name, barely ever on.

February 27, 2014 4:15 p.m.

Hallowed_Titan says... #8

Fair enough. I've run in to only 2 people from tappedout. But I've seen a lot of new/casual stay at home players. Introduced a few to tappedout.

February 27, 2014 4:15 p.m.

Hallowed_Titan says... #9

I've actually seen you on there I think Mat.

February 27, 2014 4:16 p.m.

raithe000 says... #10

First I've heard of it. How is it? I'd be interested in finding another way to test my standard decks besides fishbowling here on Tapped Out. Is the playerbase any good?

February 27, 2014 4:19 p.m.

Blakkhand says... #11

I'll fund it once it's better than co*ckatrice. Right now, it's nowhere near there. I'm keeping my eyes open though.

February 27, 2014 4:20 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #12

I've never had any issues with the players there. Even when I was playing my most annoying deck, my opponent enjoyed it.

February 27, 2014 4:21 p.m.

Matsi883 says... #13

Wow, cakrause86. I think I was only on there once, because I was using co*ckatrice, and then it crashed and life got buisier.

julianjmoss says... #14

I'm on, my username is julianjmoss. I play a lot of legacy and modern on it.

February 27, 2014 4:26 p.m.

filledelanuit says... #15

I play there semi-regularly. My user name is the same as here (I think). I mostly playtest my standard decks, but I've been using it to get into EDH. The player base is pretty good however you will meet a few people who are new and have not yet completely grasped the stack.

February 27, 2014 4:45 p.m.

Hallowed_Titan says... #16

Yeah, my experiences have been mostly good. A few jerks here and there who think they know all, yet don't. Overall a good site. Especially playing against people you know(I've gotten my friends to do it.) I usually play modern/legacy/or casual.

Stygian333 says... #17

Waiting for the site to validate my email, so I hope to be on there soon with the same username. Any opinions of Untap.in as compared to co*ckatrice?

February 27, 2014 5:19 p.m.

Blakkhand says... #18

@Stygian333, the player base and organization are much worse, but you don't have to deal with oracle/cards.xml.

billmartin98 says... #19

I'm on there usually 5-8 times a week, same username. I haven't used it in a week or so though because I just got mtgo so been playing on there.

One thing I've seen which looks really fun is having a draft on tapped out, then everyone exporting the deck lists over to untap and actually playing each other in a somewhat organized fashion.

Would be kinda cool to see what a mirrodin block draft was like lol.

Dalektable says... #20

I am on there as the same username, always willing to play a game with a fellow tappedout member. Can usually be found playing a game of standard or modern about once a day.

I'm on there too with same username. I tried to install co*ckatrice and MWS, but I were too unskilled to install them. Untap didn't need any installing so, that's fine for me.

Untap.in looks okay... I can watch games no problem. - But that's where it ends.

When I start a new game, I can get into the game screen, but no deck loads... I have 2 deck lists saved, but neither works.

The FAQ's do nothing to support this issue beyond checking ports and java, which all report as fine...

I've tried on Chrome, Firefox and IE for Windows, and Chrome, Firefox, and Safari for OSX... all the same results.

Since I can't see any options for support, and no one responds in chat, I'll stick with the other options... shame, as I was hoping for something where I didn't have to download and install a client whenever I go to a new system.

Safari on Mac OS is what I use, and it works just fine. I know there were some issues over the past 24 hours with it.

If you are on Facebook, you can try asking there. I have had a few queries answered on their page (just search for Untap).

Rayenous says... #25

I have confirmed that there is a required port being blocked on my network (but not one of the ports that the link on their FAQ scans and tests).

I don't know what port it is, but the same device on my home network works just fine.

So, I can't play at work.... ummmm... "on my lunch break"... yeah...

Or at least my bosses think that. :)

I just use my iPhone as a "Hot Spot", and connect my system and/or iPad to it.
Or I just TeamViewer to my home system and play from there.

Hi All, Developer from UnTap here...

A couple of comments i noticed here so i will cover them off.

Yes the player base is smaller than co*ckatrice, they have a few years on UnTap.

The deck limit helps incentivise funding, cost of servers and upkeep are a lot to maintain, especially since this is a solo project i work on in my free time. I understand not every one can contribute, but it goes a long way to support and keep the project alive.

As for anyone having issues, please report bugs, unless i know of them, i cant fix them. There is a Facebook link, a contact link and bug report link in the UnTap menu on the main page.

Cheers,

Unfortunately, your bug report system has a major bug...

It doesn't have any method of reporting other than opening the users default email client... this is an out-dated and inadequate method of contact.

Many users, both corporate and personal, no longer use a mail client. The preferred email method is now web-based such as gmail or hotmail.

As I am one of these individuals, when I click the bug report link, Outlook opens and begins an annoying wizard to attempt to configure an email account.

The link should bring the user to a page explaining the reporting options available to them.

Colgate says... #28

It gives for me gmail and hotmail.

April 28, 2014 10:59 a.m.

co*keeffekt says... #29

Ravenous you should set up gmail web client as your default email client, this will fix your issue. Its not out dated at all, it just sounds like you haven't got your webmail client set up correctly.

If i had the time i would build in a full bug report system, but alas i do not. Many people seem to be fine using the system as it is.

I for one appreciate the work you are doing. The new UI is great, and for a one man show you are doing a great job!

i've been using it a couple days and like it very much, the interface is a bit durdley at first so needed someone to help walk me through it but really enjoying it. Obviously being beta it will improve such as lag and the shuffle could do with some work, a stack shuffler would be great and the ability to store more decks eventually.

don't be surprised when hasbro shut them down like other non sanction simulators so enjoy it while you can!

May 7, 2014 4:44 p.m.

Matsi883 says... #33

I don't think Hasbro can shut them down because they offer other games then MTG.

May 7, 2014 4:47 p.m.

ExpectDragons says... #34

it's copyrighted as are the other games which they'll be targeted for as well, they're not going to allow a free simulator to run alongside their own products

I'm on with the same username. It's a great site to test decks and works extremely well. Completely free, easy to make an account, and no downloads. It was too true to believe, but I'm glad it exists.

I'm on once-in-a-while (will probably play some today) - same user name as here.A lot of bugs have been fixed over the past few weeks and I haven't had much trouble with it lately. I chipped in 10$ and can store 7 decks. It's easy enough to delete one then copy/paste another from TappedOut whenever I want to try something new.

The player base is kinda small. I see dozens of people logged in, but only a couple ready for a game at any one time (though depends on time of day, of course). Player skill level and maturity level varies as one would expect. I've only encountered one actual rude person; a couple have ragequit against my control deck (can't blame 'em), but most have been polite, knew what they were doing - or if new, announced such and were open to teaching - and were good sports.

I haven't tried co*ckatrice yet, but I did use MWS a long time ago. I prefer UnTap because there's nothing to install and it's fast to set up and get started.
