A Shocker of an Ending The previous book in this series, Any Means Necessary, ended with Brady Hawk learning of his mother’s brutal murder by a member of Obsidian, the newest threat to world security. Brady is intent on avenging her death at any cost, but is sidetracked by a new mission to stop Obsidian’s next plan. The author seamlessly weaves Brady’s personal vendetta with Obsidian’s actions. He has also gives Brady more depth by having him making a few missteps due to his simmering rage against his mother’s killer. And the newest member of the team, Titus Black, proves his value to the team by saving Brady when it counts. The shocking discovery of one of Obsidian’s major players rocks the Phoenix team to its core. But addressing that issue will have to wait for another book. R.J. Patterson is becoming a master of the cliffhanger ending, perfectly setting the reader up for the next mission.

If you follow along with the Brady Hawk series, you're going to love this one. Hawk, along with his wife, Alex and friend, Titus Black work for the Phoenix Foundation, a very secret government organization. They are currently on location in Sudan but that doesn't go quite the way it's supposed to. There are lots of good twists in the plot and good characters. They are basically trying to stop a group that will harm not only the US, but other nations as well. It's a thriller of a book and I'm lucky to have the chance to read it. Five stars!

Vengeance R.J. Patterson Brady Hawks mother has been murdered. Only to get Hawk's attention. A message. An extremely powerful and influential organization is pulling the strings. It's players are entwined in powerful positions in are government, corporate America, and in leadership positions worldwide. An extremely fast paced action thriller. Enjoyed immensely!

Hawk has one primary mission, but he keeps being distracted by national and world emergencies. He and his team frequently are after two or more missions at once. Surprises and action aplenty. And politics over real priorities hamper their focus. It’s a good thing that they are so good at what they do.

Hawk is the Man!! Again this Brady Hawk novel totally captured my attention. I just went from one page to the next. My only problem was this book was pretty close to a cliff hanger! Eeeh I hate that, but the story was incredibly awesome!! GMR

As good as ever Since I discovered R.J. Patterson, I have been working my way through the Brady Hawke books one after the other. I think one a day can be classed as binge reading, but boy is it enjoyable.

Not what I was expecting I was disappointed in this book because your assassins made so many blunders. They never showed any special skills and kept getting caught. I almost gave up but finished anyway.

Same thing over again It's the same thing over again going after the same characters with different names, it's getting old. I am not going to read the next book, because it is all the same.

Still difficult Sentence structure and continuity hampers reading and comprehension. RJ seems to be writing without considering proofreading therefore disrupting storyline due to interpreting intended meaning. Irritating!

Watch where you tread. Someone is not who you think they are. The title is true to the story. Seeking revenge can be a double edged sword. No matter what you do, you can be the next victim!

I love every one of these books, and this one's a real good one.
Not your typical "get caught, escape, get caught, escape.. etc" kinda book.
Highly recommended.

Blunt This one not as good as the other Brady Hawk books I have read just a little slow and sadly the story line not as good. I also I felt it ended to abruptly wanting to promote the next book.
